Dear Mr. Jimenez:
Due to the financial impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic to AltaMed, we will not be able to install the proposed art panels to our currently decorated parking structure. Our required expenditure fee for artwork was $90,000. We have added over $1 million dollars of exterior design enhancements to the Telegraph parking structure. As requested by the Councilmembers, we added exterior color lighting, backing and painting to reflect the lights on the exterior façade. The cost of these improvements was $707,799. We also added vertical metal z-girt on the corners and center of the front façade of the structure. Cost for these items was $484,247. Therefore, a total of $1,192,056 of enhancements to the exterior of the parking structure have already been completed. Please accept this work as the art in public places fee and allow us to obtain our final Certificate of Occupancy for the parking structure.
