COMMENDATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE
HONORING
MARY GIBSON
FOR HER VOLUNTEERISM AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
WHEREAS, Mary Gibson, a Commerce resident since 1984, has continually shown her deep love and dedication to the community, and her contributions have played a pivotal role in the ongoing success of various programs and organizations within the City of Commerce and our neighboring communities; and
WHEREAS, Mary Gibson, throughout her remarkable journey, has exemplified outstanding leadership and dedication, serving as the esteemed Senior Citizen Commissioner, earning the well-deserved "Women of Distinction" accolade from Assemblyman Ricardo Lara of the 50th Assembly District in 2011 and was recognized for her tireless efforts by the Los Angeles County Commission on Aging with esteemed Older American Recognition award in 2010; and WHEREAS, Mary Gibson's impact on the community is immeasurable, as evidenced by her selfless contribution of over 2,000 volunteer hours as a highly trained member of the esteemed she enthusiastically organizes senior trips and events, actively participates in Neighborhood Watch Meetings, and passionately engages in annual City events such as National Night Out, has earned her the endearing title of the "Queen of the ComCATS" among her peers; and WHEREAS, Mary Gibson's devotion and hard work have left an indelible mark on our city, as she has generously given her time and talents to support critical initiatives, including the city's food distribution program and Kaiser Hospital's Hospice Program, alongside her invaluable contributions to numerous City commissions and committees; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE HEREBY
HONORS AND RECOGNIZES MARY GIBSON AS A BEACON OF VOLUNTEERISM AND INSPIRATION TO ALL. MARY'S UNWAVERING DEDICATION HAS
UNDOUBTFULLY MADE COMMERCE A SAFER, MORE VIBRANT, AND BETTER
PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK, SETTING A SHINING EXAMPLE OF COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
