RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PARKS AND RECEATION MASTER PLAN WHEREAS, on January 12, 2022, the City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for professional services for the preparation of the City of Commerce Park and Open Space Master Plan with a due date of February 24, 2022; and WHEREAS, on July 12, 2022, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with RJM; and WHEREAS, on August 10, 2022, RJM commenced development of the Master Plan and completed it in April 2023; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Open Space Master Plan is accessible herein through Commerce Parks and Open Space Master Plan serves as a guide and implementation tool for the management and development of parks and recreation facilities throughout the city; and WHEREAS, on May 4, 2023, the Master plan was presented to the Parks and Recreation, Youth Advisory and Disability Access and Opportunity Commissions; and WHEREAS, on May 4, 2023 Parks and Recreation, Youth Advisory and Disability Access and Opportunity Commissions recommended that City Council approve the Parks and Open Space Master Plan; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council upon conclusion of a Presentation by RJM Consulting Group, inc. the consultant for the development of the Master Plan approve the Parks and Open Space Master Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. City Council Approves the City’s 2023 Parks and Open Space Master Plan included herein through Commerce Parks and Open Space Master Plan.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
