A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH STANTEC CONSULTING SERVICES, INC. TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE TELEGRAPH CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FROM ATLANTIC BOULEVARD TO MARIANNA STREET AND AUTHORIZING PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES BY TRANSTECH ENGINEERS, INC. PURSUANT TO THEIR ON-CALL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WHEREAS, on June 27, 2023, City Council approved $600,000 of Measure AA funds as part of its 2023/24 Fiscal Year Capital Improvement Program for the Telegraph Corridor Improvement Project from Atlantic Boulevard to Marianna Street; and WHEREAS, Request for Proposal (RFP) for design services was released with a due date of August 7, 2023; and WHEREAS, two (2) firms submitted proposals and evaluated and ranked based on selection criteria specified in the RFP on the technical evaluation responses; and WHEREAS, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. received the highest ranking; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council approve a professional services agreement with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. to provide engineering services for $449,655; and authorize Transtech Engineers, Inc. to proceed with project management services pursuant to their on-call professional services; and WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $600,000 were budgeted in the 2023/24 Capital Improvement Program Measure AA Funds (Account 41-5170-52001.10462) to cover the project design phase cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. All of the recitals above are true and correct and incorporated herein as if set forth in full.
Section 2. Approve a Professional Service Agreement in a form approved by the City Attorney with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., for engineering services for Telegraph Corridor Improvement Project from Atlantic Boulevard to Marianna Street in the amount of $449,655 attached here in as Exhibit “A” and furthermore, authorize the City Manager to execute amendment(s) to the agreement for related and additional professional services should it become necessary.
Section 3. Authorize Transtech Engineers, Inc. to proceed with Project Management and Coordination Services, pursuant to their existing on-all agreement for on call consultant services not to exceed 10% of the project design cost.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
