RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A SKID STEER LOADER FROM SOCAL JCB FOR CAMP COMMERCE WHEREAS, the Winter of 2023 brought record-breaking snowfall to Lake Arrowhead, California, with an estimated 9 feet of snow falling over a few days. The snowstorm led to road closure and power outages that lasted many days. Residents and businesses experienced a shortage of resources, and many were trapped in their snow-filled properties, unequipped with the necessary snow removal equipment.
WHEREAS, the City of Commerce, “Camp Commerce,” was also affected and had no means to mediate the impacts of the snow as the existing tractor on the property lacked the necessary attachments for effective snow removal. The existing loader no longer meets the needs of the Camp Commerce program.
WHEREAS, On September 12, 2023, the City Council approved Capital Outlay items for the Transportation Department. Transportation staff obtained input from the Camp Commerce Specialist, who identified and specified the Skid Steer that would meet the needs of Camp Commerce Operations.
WHEREAS, the Purchase of the Skid Steer can be executed by utilizing the cooperative agreement through Sourcewell (formerly NJPA) Contract #040319-JCB for Medium Duty Construction Equipment.
WHEREAS, the JCB Skid Steer cost is approximately $124,010 for FY23/24.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
