RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE PERSONNEL CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN BY CREATING A PART-TIME CLASSIFICATION FOR THE CLASS INSTRUCTOR – PERFORMING ARTS, ESTABLISHING JOB SPECIFICATION AND SALARY LEVEL.
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department periodically reviews classification specifications and recommends changes to the City’s Classification and Compensation Plan; and WHEREAS, a significant increase in participation levels within the Performing Arts/Unplugged program has been experienced over the last four years. The Department is in need of two positions which will be assigned to the Performing Arts/Unplugged program (i.e.. Dance, drama, set design), providing support throughout the year in productions and performances.
WHEREAS, the job description for the position encompasses a full scope of responsibilities, duties, and requirements of the position and is attached for review and approval.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE HEREBY RESOLVES, DECLARES, AND DETERMINES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. The City of Commerce hereby approves creating a part-time Class Instructor – Performing Arts classification and establishing a pay schedule for said position.
SECTION 3. The Job Specification for part-time Class Instructor -Performing Arts attached hereto as Exhibit “A”, incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby approved.
SECTION 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, this 23rd day of APRIL, 2024.
