RESOLUTION NO. _____
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/2025 WHEREAS, annually, staff presents City Council with a proposed CIP for consideration and prioritization, which includes an opportunity for all departments to submit their requests to the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, the CIP list for FY 2024/2025 represents potential projects with ranking recommendations with projects having additional funding sources higher in priority order for Council consideration and to determine the final priority order and which projects to fund through Measure AA; and WHEREAS, on June 26, 2024, staff presented this information to the Measure AA Committee and they expressed their support of the City investing in its infrastructure and recommend that the City Council approve staff’s recommended CIP Program for FY 2024/2025 as attached with Measure AA Funds; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends that the supplemental appropriation of $1,212,247 City Council approved on May 14, 2024 for the Pathways for Hope Project and the new request of $1,800,000 for the City Monument Sign and Landscaping Project be charged to Measure AA’s Beautification funding category.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Approve the Capital Improvement Program for FY 2024/2025 and allocate $6,934,902 in Measure AA Funds for all projects listed as recommended with the Pathways for Hope Project allocation of $1,212,247 and $1,800,000 for the City Monument Sign and Landscaping Project charged to the Measure AA Beautification funding category.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
