SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AGREEMENTS FOR EXECUTIVE RECRUITMENT SEARCH SERVICES.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is requesting approval from City Council to approve professional service agreements with two consulting firms for the recruitment of a Director of Finance & City Treasurer and Director of Public Works. Following a thorough evaluation of three consulting firms, it is recommended that Tripepi Smith Talent Solutions be contracted for the Director of Finance & City Treasurer recruitment and Koff & Associates for the Public Works Director recruitment. Both consulting firms were selected following a thorough evaluation process involving proposals from three different consulting firms.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Commerce is committed to ensuring the highest standards of leadership and management within its Executive Management Team. Therefore, it is recommended to contract services with a professional consulting firm that can provide extensive expertise in executive recruitments to assist in hiring two vacant key executive management positions. This will ensure a thorough and professional recruitment process, attracting the most qualified candidates for these critical roles.
ANALYSIS:
Staff conducted a detailed analysis of proposals from three reputable consulting firms, evaluating them based on their experience, methodology, cost, and client feedback. The firms evaluated were Tripepi Smith Talent Solutions, Koff & Associates, and Bob Murray & Associates. All three firms demonstrated significant experience in executive recruitment for public sector positions. The top two firms were selected based on the above mentioned criteria.

The Recruitment timeline for both recruitments will take approximately 13 to 16 weeks. Both firms will develop candidate profile, handle advertisement, conduct outreach & recruit, screen and evaluate candidates, provide recommendations and conduct reference/background checks.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost for each recruitment service will not exceed $25,000. Staff is requesting City Council to approve for not-to-exceed $25,000 for a professional services agreement with a qualified Executive Search firm.

Disapprove Staff’s recommendation.
Provide staff with further direction.
