RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF NEW HANDHELD RADIOS FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION WHEREAS, Public Safety personnel utilize handheld radios to communicate and dispatch calls for service; and WHEREAS, existing radios are malfunctioning after years of use and need to be replaced. Additionally, there is a lack of available radios for new personnel recently hired; and WHEREAS, the City has previously ordered radios from Foothill Communications and was provided a quote for seven (7) new Motorola radios and three (3) additional spare batteries for $8,526.12; and WHEREAS, the Public Safety Division is in urgent need of new radios to effectively communicate and efficiently respond to community needs.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The purchase of new radios from Foothill Communications is approved.
Section 3. Approve $8,526.12 for seven new radios and three spare batteries.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
