RESOLUTION NO
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH LOS ANGELES COUNTY FOR GENERAL SERVICES FOR A FIVE YEAR TERM WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles (County) and the City of Commerce established a working relationship as a contract city for the provision of specific services early in its formation as a City; and WHEREAS, the City operates under various agreements with the County for different types of services including general services and not all agreements express a termination date; and WHEREAS, the General Services Agreement is renewable every five years for a five year term of service; and WHEREAS, the current Agreement expires on June 30, 2025; and WHEREAS, the County’s general services include, but are not limited to, sign installation, new signal installation due to damage from an accident, roadway striping, temporary sidewalk patches, small concrete repair work as needed, and hazardous waste disposal for illegally dumped materials in public right-of-ways; and WHEREAS, staff meets with the County representative on an as needed basis and monitors all work orders in the County’s online system, staff recommends approval of a renewal of the County’s General Services Agreement for a five year term commencing on July 1, 2025 and expiring on June 30, 2030 due to staff’s satisfaction with their public works support services, rates, and customer service.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The Agreement made by and between the City of Commerce and the County of Los Angeles extending the term for five years, commening on July 1, 2025 and expiring on June 30, 2030, for general services is hereby approved and adopted.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement and this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
