A PROCLAMATION
OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY COUNCIL
PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF JULY AS
PARKS MAKE LIFE BETTER MONTH
IN THE CITY OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, the City of Commerce Parks and Recreation Department enriches the lives of residents by promoting health, wellness, and community connections through fitness, play, and enrichment activities; and WHEREAS, parks and recreation strengthen community pride and identity by offering programs for youth, teens, adults, and seniors, creating memorable experiences, and celebrating the City’s unique character and culture; and WHEREAS, parks and recreation contribute to the City’s vitality by supporting local businesses, hosting community events, and providing safe, welcoming spaces that are inclusive and accessible to people of all abilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Commerce is committed to protecting open space, promoting environmental stewardship, and offering positive alternatives that enhance the quality of life for all residents; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ivan Altamirano, Mayor of the City of Commerce, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby proclaim the month of July 2025 as PARKS MAKE LIFE BETTER MONTH in the City of Commerce, and encourage all residents to enjoy and support our parks, programs, and facilities that help make life better and ensure opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
