RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR THE HOLIDAY DÉCOR PROGRAM AND BLACK FRIDAY TRAFFIC CONTROL WHEREAS, the City’s Holiday Décor Program has been provided by St. Nick’s Christmas Lighting & Décor Company (St. Nick’s) since July 18, 2017; and WHEREAS, JCL has provided traffic control services during the Black Friday event since 2019, and has been participating in all the planning meetings and developed the traffic control plan to mitigate traffic congestion; and WHEREAS, the staff recommendation is to appropriate funds in the amount of $188,400, which is the cost of the Holiday Décor program this year; and WHEREAS, the staff recommendation is to appropriate funds in the amount of $33,111, which is the cost of the traffic control services, for the Black Friday event this year; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Appropriate funds for this year’s Holiday Décor Program and Black Friday traffic control services. The cost for the services shall not exceed $188,400 and $33,111, respectively.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute this Resolution and the Agreement.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
