Commerce Crosswalk Art Pricing
This is not an o*icial quote, the information provided is to guide decisions as to which artwork you’d like to pursue, based on the pricing. After final artwork is chosen for each crosswalk, Steve will be able to provide actual pricing. It should be fairly close to the estimates shown here.

THERMOPLASTIC
Thermoplastic is easy to work with and can be opened to tra*ic shortly after installation. The Shariden crew can install four crosswalks in two days so it makes sense to organize the work by doing the Harbor St./Commerce Way intersection in two days, and then group the three crosswalks at Jardin St./Commerce Way with the midblock Harbor St. crosswalk for another two days of work.

Here are some options:

OPTION 1: Harbor St./Commerce Way - $182,000 (most complex designs)

1. Art Theme

2. Theatre Theme

3. TBD (Some ideas – Sports, Travel, STEAM, Etc.)

4. TBD (Some ideas – Sports, Travel, STEAM, Etc.)
(Crosswalks 3 and 4 are completed with a similar complexity level as crosswalks 1 and 2) OPTION 2: Harbor St./Commerce Way - $163,600 (mid-range complexity design) All 4 crosswalks – Butterfly Design
OPTION 3: Harbor St./Commerce Way - $146,450 (low complexity design) All 4 crosswalks – Piano with Color Keys
OPTION 4:

Jardine St./Commerce Way - $134,000 (low complexity design with few colors) All 3 crosswalks – Piano with Black and White Keys
Midblock Harbor – Piano with Color Keys
OPTION 5:

Jardine St./Commerce Way - $152,170
All 3 crosswalks – Butterfly Design
Midblock Harbor – Piano with Black and White Keys
For your suggested water theme, pricing to do four crosswalks would fall in between the pricing for Option 1 and Option 2.

STREETBOND COATING
Installation using StreetBond Coating is much more involved than thermoplastic. There are multiple steps: 1) Base coat, 2) Product Coats 3) Sealer Coat. Dry time for all coats is heavily dependent on weather conditions. The designs are applied using traditional layout methods, plastic templates and vinyl stencils. Where different colors touch in the design, one color must dry sufficiently before the next color can be applied. 6–8-hour cure time is recommended.

To show an example using all 5 crosswalks the Arts Commission has seen:

Harbor St./Commerce Way -

1. Art Theme

2. Theatre Theme

3. Piano with Black and White Keys

4. Piano with Color Keys
Midblock Harbor – Butterfly Design
(Jardine St./Commerce Way intersection is not included in this example) The installation would take 12 days - $152,000
Notes:
- Prevailing wage applies.
- Prices include design, equipment, materials and labor. - Night work would incur an additional cost.
- Prices do not include tra*ic control.
- Existing thermoplastic and paint on the asphalt should be removed by a striping company prior to work.
- Asphalt should be in good condition.
- Permits are not included. Elevated Paintworks o*ers permit application services if needed.
