SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR CITY ATTORNEY SERVICES
WITH AVAREZ-GLASMAN & COLVIN
THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR CITY ATTORNEY SERVICES WITH ALVAREZ-GLASMAN & COLVIN (“SECOND AMENDMENT”) effective as of July 1, 2025, is made and entered into by and between the CITY OF COMMERCE (“CITY”) and ALVAREZ-GLASMAN & COLVIN (“FIRM”).
RECITALS
WHEREAS, CITY and FIRM (collectively referred to as the “PARTIES”) have previously executed certain Agreement for City Attorney Services (“Agreement”) related to legal services for the City of Commerce.
WHEREAS, the PARTIES wish to amend the Agreement to modify the compensation to be paid by the CITY to FIRM and have agreed to enter into this SECOND AMENDMENT to effectuate the intent of the PARTIES.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES AGREE TO AMEND THE AGREEMENT AS FOLLOWS:
MODIFICATION TO HOURLY RATE SCHEDULE
The compensation to be paid by CITY to FIRM, as set forth in Exhibit A of the Agreement shall be modified as follows:
General City Attorney Legal Services $250.00 per hour
Special Legal Services $295.00 per hour
Commencing as of January 1, 2027, and on each January 1st thereafter, the then-effective hourly rates shall be increased (but not decreased) by an amount which shall reflect the increase, if any, in the cost of living during the previous 12 months by adding to the hourly rates an amount computed by multiplying the hourly rates by the percentage by which the level of the Consumer Price Index for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, as reported on January 1st of the new year by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States Department of Labor has increased over its level as of January 1st of the prior year.
EFFECT OF AMENDMENT
Except as modified herein, all other terms and provisions of the Agreement between the CITY and FIRM shall remain in full force and effect.
EFFECTIVE DATE
Unless otherwise specified herein, this SECOND AMENDMENT shall become effective as of the date set forth above.
