There are currently no revisions to the project budget or scope.

PROJECT FUNDING
Federal Funds 100%
Section 5307, FFY 2022 Los Angeles (UZA #060020): $125,000 Total Transportation Development Credits in lieu of Local Match $25,000 Total Project Cost: $25,000
The 20% local share is provided by Transportation Development Credits. Because Transportation Development Credits do not allocate actual money toward project expenses, a 100% federal share is reflected where the credits are applied.

Computer-Aided Dispatch Scheduling Equipment
This project applies $125,000 FY 2022 in Federal Section 5307 funds apportioned to Los Angeles (UZA #060020) for the purchase of computer-aided dispatch scheduling equipment and software to support the operation of Dial-A-Ride and micro transit service to and from the Commerce Metrolink Train Station. Funds will also be used to cover expenses related to assisting and training staff to transition to the new scheduling program that uses a computer to automate scheduling rides.

Project Benefits
The computer-aided scheduling will benefit the riders by automating the scheduling of rides for the public, resulting in faster, more reliable, and more efficient appointment bookings. The computer will assist the dispatcher in seeing more slots to book rides that otherwise might go unnoticed. More efficient appointment bookings will result in more rides per hour and reduce miles per hour as more appointments are booked closer together within the same time frame. The customer service experience for seniors and the disabled will improve from more streamlined service because the staff is less likely to decline an appointment booking due to unavailable slots.

Additional Information
None provided.

Location Description
Dispatchers will use the computer-aided scheduling equipment at the City of Commerce’s Transportation Department building at 5555 Jillson Street, Commerce, CA 90040, located in Southeast Los Angeles. At its peak, Dial-A-Ride and micro transit service require four (4) vehicles. Dial-A-Ride riders schedule trips within a 10-mile radius of City Hall, and micro transit riders book trips to and from their Commerce work location and the Commerce Metrolink Train Station.

Section 5307, FFY 2022 Los Angeles (UZA #060020): $101,288 Total Transportation Development Credits in lieu of Local Match $20,258 Total Project Cost: $101,288
The 20% local share is provided by Transportation Development Credits. Because Transportation Development Credits do not allocate actual money toward project expenses, a 100% federal share is reflected where the credits are applied.

Bus Service and Operating Equipment
This project applies $101,288 FY 2022 in Federal Section 5307 funds apportioned to Los Angeles (UZA #060020) for shop/facilities equipment purchases from the time period of July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2024.

This project includes replacing a heavy-duty tire repair machine that has exceeded its useful life.

Project Benefits
The mission of the City of Commerce Transit is to serve the community by providing efficient transit service that is big enough to serve and small enough to care for customers. Operating assistance will benefit the community by maintaining reliable transit services. Reliability is attractive not only to current customers who may consider taking City of commerce Transit for additional trips but also to potential customers who may consider taking public transit if reliability is not degraded. People who live or work in communities with high-quality, reliable public transportation tend to drive significantly less and rely more on walking, cycling, and public transit. Not only does riding public transit result in economic savings for the public as relief from high gas prices and inflation, but it's also great for the environment and public health.

Additional Information
None provided.

Location Description
The bus service and operating equipment will be used at the Transportation Maintenance Facility at 5555 Jillson Street, Commerce, CA 90040, in Southeast Los Angeles. The bus service and operating equipment will support Dial-A-Ride, micro-transit, and fixed route service.

At its peak, Dial-A-Ride and micro-transit service require four (4) vehicles. Dial-A-Ride riders schedule trips within a 10-mile radius of City Hall, and micro transit riders book trips to and from their Commerce work location and the Commerce Metrolink Train Station.

The City of Commerce Transportation Department operates four local routes (100 Green, 200 Blue, 300 Yellow, and 400 Red) and one commuter route (600 Citadel Express).

At its peak, the fixed route requires ten (10) vehicles. Fixed route service was provided from 6 a.m. to 9:
40 p.m., seven days a week.
