RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF COMMERCE AND TWO OR MORE ARTISTS FOR A MURAL INSTALLATION ON 5720 E. WASHINGTON BOULEVARD. COMMERCE, CA 90040 WHEREAS, the City of Commerce remains dedicated to enhancing the urban environment and cultivating civic pride through meaningful public art; and WHEREAS, recent efforts have focused on expanding mural installations and shaping a distinctive identity for the emerging Rosewood Arts District; and WHEREAS, City Council has approved a mural concept that will depict a historical view of the City of Commerce; and WHEREAS, the concept of the mural is included as part of the attachments herein; and WHEREAS, the mural will be completed by two or more artists on 5720 E. Washington Blvd. Commerce, CA 90040; and WHEREAS, the agreement for this mural installation will not exceed $70,000 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Approve an Agreement, and any exhibits incorporated therein, for the approved mural installation concept on 5720 E. Washington Blvd., Commerce, CA 90040, between the City of Commerce and two or more artists, for an amount not to exceed $70,000.00, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to sign the Agreement and this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
