WHEREAS,theCityofCommercewashonoredtohostAmerica’sFreedomTribute& TravelingVietnamWallfromMay22throughMay26,2026,bringingtoourcommunitya movingtributetothecourageousmenandwomenwhoservedournationduringtheVietnam War;and
WHEREAS,theTravelingVietnamWallservedasasolemnreminderofthesacrificesmadeby membersoftheUnitedStatesArmedForces,includingthosewhogavetheirlives,thosewho remainmissinginaction,andthosewhoreturnedhomecarryingthephysicalandemotionalburdensofwar;and WHEREAS,thistributeprovidedanopportunityforresidents,veterans,families,andvisitorsto reflectuponthecostoffreedom,honorthebraveryandpatriotismofourservicemembers,and ensurethattheirsacrificesareneverforgotten;and
WHEREAS,theCityofCommerceacknowledgewithdeepestgratitudetheVietnamveterans whoseservice,courage,anddedicationhelpedprotectthefreedomsweenjoytoday,andfurther werecognizethefamilieswhoseunwaveringsupportandsacrificesustainedthemthroughout theirservice;and
WHEREAS,theCityofCommercejoinscommunitiesacrossthenationinhonoringthosewho madetheultimatesacrificeinservicetotheUnitedStatesofAmericaandinreaffirmingour commitmenttorememberingandpreservingtheirlegacyforfuturegenerations;
NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVED,THATTHECITYCOUNCILOFTHECITY
OFCOMMERCEHEREBYHONORSANDCOMMENDSAMERICA’SFREEDOM
TRIBUTE&TRAVELINGVIETNAM WALLFORITSDEDICATIONTOPRESERVINGTHEMEMORYANDSACRIFICEOFOURNATION’SVETERANS.
