He explained that the Wilmington Avenue Safe Streets Pedestrian/Bicycle Improvements Project is a pedestrian and bicycle safety improvement project aimed to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety for communities that are adjacent to the Wilmington Avenue transportation corridor. The project will develop safer pedestrian crossings and intersections, in addition to installing bicycle lanes to improve bicycle visibility and safety, which aims to reduce traffic collisions.
