SUBJECT: Notice of Completion for the 2024-2025 Road Maintenance and Resurfacing Project Summary:
Council approval is requested to accept and file the Notice of Completion for the 2024-2025 Road Maintenance and Resurfacing Project, confirming the contractor has completed all required work.
Recommendation:
Move to accept the Notice of Completion for the construction contract for the 2024-2025 Road Maintenance and Resurfacing Project and authorize the Public Works Director to sign the Notice of Completion and the City Clerk to file the notice with the County Recorder's Office.
Budget impact:
No budget impact to record the Notice of Completion.
Discussion:
During a regular City Council Meeting on October 22, 2024, the Council awarded the construction contract to VSS International, Inc. in the amount of $415,514 to provide city wide road maintenance services.
A Notice of Completion will need to be recorded with the County Clerk Recorder's office now that the Contractor has fulfilled it's contractual obligation for construction of the project.

Discussion:
During a regular City Council Meeting on August 27, 2024, the Council awarded the construction contract to Seal Rite Paving and Grading in the amount of $1,399,490.00.
A Notice of Completion will need to be recorded with the County Clerk Recorder's office now that the Contractor has fulfilled its contractual obligation for construction of the project.

SUBJECT: Annual Cotton Festival & Parade
Summary:
Public works staff received an application from Corcoran Chamber of Commerce requesting to hold their event on October 4, 2025.
Recommendation:
Move to approve request contingent upon receipt of a certificate of liability insurance naming the City of Corcoran as an additional insured.
Budget impact:
None
Discussion:
This is an annual event. Clean up is on-going through out the day, under the direction of the Corcoran Chamber of Commerce.
The City, Public Works Department, will set out barricades and cones the Friday prior to the event, and the Chamber of Commerce and their volunteers will set them up on Saturday morning and take them down Saturday evening. Public works will pick up all barricades and cones on Monday.
Security is provided by the Corcoran Police Department
Police and Fire to be notified of street closure.

Recommendation:
Move to approve the Consent Calendar and reject the claim by Mario Ramirez.
Discussion:
On July 21, 2025, staff received a claim application from Mario Valdez. According to the application, the claimant claims that the City street sweeper hit his front side mirror causing it to break. The claim was forwarded to the City's third-party administrator, Acclamation Insurance Management Services (AIMS), as part of the City's participation in the Central San Joaquin Valley Risk Management Authority (CSJVRMA).
AIMS recommends the City issue a notice of rejection.
A copy of the claim will be provided upon request.
Budget Impact:
This type of claim is handled through the City's Risk Management Authority (RMA).

WHEREAS, over the course of his racing career, Beau has earned 13 career wins, a testament to his skill, perseverance, and competitive spirit; and
