Title Name/Topic: Skyline Resolution
Background
1. What is the purpose for the request i.e. what you are trying to achieve or do? My hope is that a Resolution would strengthen preservation efforts in the future for the recently acquired property at Skyline. It would also make it very clear to the public that we purchased this land for their enjoyment.
2. What is the scope of the work you wish to see done?
Create language in a Resolution that reinforces the intent of the city council in 2020.
That intent was to keep the 292 acres preserved in its natural state for generations., with the exception of minor amenities like pedestrian bridges, benches, shade structures, trail markers, signage, etc.
3. Does this request align with the City’s Strategic Plan? How? This request aligns with strategic goal #5, Sense of Place. By ensuring preservation, we are bringing our citizens together in a stress-free, outdoor environment for exercise and to enjoy natures beauty, right in our backyard. It also supports our efforts to become the “City of Trails”.
4. What is the desired timeline to have the issue considered by Council? Prior to Jan. 1, 2025
5. Is the issue urgent requiring action before the next priority setting session of Council (Spring Workshop)?
