Background
1. What is the purpose for the request i.e. what you are trying to achieve or do? I would like us to look into participating in the California Service Corps program to provide paid internships for youth fellows in our city.
2. What is the scope of the work you wish to see done?
I would like to understand what the CA Service Corps program entails: what the state provides, that the deliverables are, and what the city must provide. I would like to know which cities in the Inland Empire are participating. And I would like to understand if there are any risks or limitations to launching such a program.
3. Does this request align with the City’s Strategic Plan? How? Yes – it directly connect to our purpose to “create a community where everyone can thrive” and aligns with strategic goal 5 (sense of place) and, I anticipate, goal 6 (high performing government).
4. What is the desired timeline to have the issue considered by Council? Before the end of the calendar year.
5. Is the issue urgent requiring action before the next priority setting session of Council (Spring Workshop)?
