How Project Serves DACs:

The City of Corona serves its disadvantaged
communities by investing in their safety, infrastructure, appearance, and economy. Of the 68 edge-lit light
emitting diodes street name signs, 57 will be placed in a disadvantaged community in the City of Corona, per the
Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool.

Teaming With Other Entities?: No
Summary:

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) have a smaller
environmental footprint compared to traditional lighting solutions. By reducing energy consumption, this project indirectly contributes to lower greenhouse gas
emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier
environment in disadvantaged communities often
disproportionately affected by pollution. LED lights
provide better visibility than traditional lights, which is crucial for pedestrian and vehicular safety. Improved
traffic signal visibility can reduce accidents, particularly in areas with inadequate street lighting, directly
benefiting residents of disadvantaged communities.
