RESOLUTION NO. 2026-079
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORONA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE CITY OF
CORONA 2026 POTABLE WATER MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Corona (“City”) is a municipal corporation duly created, established, and authorized to exercise its powers under and pursuant to the Constitution and the laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City previously adopted a Potable Water Master Plan (“PWMP”) in September 2005; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corona (“City”) has prepared and proposes to implement the 2026 PWMP which serves as a document to assist with planning and development of water supply, treatment, and distribution facilities to maintain the City’s level of service goals for potable water use; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORONA, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby adopts the 2026 Potable Water Master Plan attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds that adoption of the PWMP is consistent with the 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, because it furthers the objectives and strategies of Goal 3: Sound Infrastructure.
SECTION 3. This Resolution is exempt pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the Guidelines for the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which states that a project is exempt from CEQA if the activity is covered by the common sense rule that CEQA applies only to projects that have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment.
Where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA. This Resolution approves a master plan for the implementation of potable water projects and programs. This action does not approve or authorize any construction activity and will not result in any disturbance or effect on an environmental resource. There is no possibility that adopting the 2026 Potable Water Master Plan will have a significant effect on the environment. Therefore, no further environmental review is required.
