RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - 088
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORONA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL
OF INDIVIDUAL GRANT APPLICATION AND RELATED
AUTHORIZATIONS FOR CALRECYCLE’S BEVERAGE
CONTAINER RECYCLING GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the California Public Resources Code authorizes the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to administer various Grant Programs; and WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority, CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the administration of the Grant Programs; and WHEREAS, CalRecycle grant application procedures require, among other things, an applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the administration of CalRecycle Grants; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corona (“City”) wishes to apply for a grant from CalRecycle for the purpose of funding the installation of water refill stations at parks throughout the community to increase access to free, clean drinking water and encourage the use of reusable water bottles, and reduce single-use plastic container waste.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORONA, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Authorization. The City Council of the City of Corona (“City Council”) hereby approves the filing of an application with CalRecycle in the amount of $275,000 for the Beverage Container Recycling Grant Program.
SECTION 2. Delegation of Authority. The City Council delegates authority to the Community Services Director, or her designee, to execute all grant documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, and requests for payment, necessary to secure grant funds and implement the approved grant project.
SECTION 3. Term of Authorization. This signature authority is effective for five years from the date of adoption.
SECTION 4. Effective Date. The Mayor shall sign the Resolution and the City Clerk attest there to, and this Resolution shall take effect and be in force on the date of its adoption.
