Consultant shall prepare design and bid documents for the removal and replacement of existing sludge circulation pumps, heat exchangers, and related equipment. Additionally, the Consultant shall handle the Motor Control Center (MCC) design at Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) 1 for equipment related to three mesophilic anaerobic digesters, each with a capacity of 514,000 gallons (50 ft diameter, 30 ft height).
Design Requirements:
The design documents for the equipment replacement at WRF 1 must include:
• Pumps: All pumps shall be Vaughan (Sludge Pumps – Quantity 3). • Motor Operated Valves (MOVs): All MOVs shall be Auma. • Motor Control Center (MCC): The Motor Control Center shall be Allen Bradley housed in an Integrated Power Center (IPC). The section should be a Duluth non-bussed Remote Terminal Unit (RTU).
• Heat Exchangers: The heat exchangers shall:
o Maintain digester temperatures between 95°F and 100°F year-round. o Be designed for a maximum working pressure of 50 PSI at 300°F. o Have minimum design metal temperatures of 20°F at 50 PSI. o Be sourced from any reputable brand (Quantity 3). Current heat exchangers are Alfa Laval Thermal Inc.
• Concrete Pad: Concrete pad footings shall be constructed to City of Corona Standards.
The design documents must also detail the demolition process, including all electrical and conduit, as well as anticipated utility shutdowns and switchovers.
Scope of Work:
Sludge Pumps and Discharge Line from Gravity Belt Thickener to Digester Feed • Install three (3) new thickened sludge pumps.
• Replace two (2) existing Gravity Belt Thickener (GBT) horizontal sludge conveyors with one common conveyance or collection mechanism below platform grating. • Replace the existing thickened sludge discharge line with a new glass lined pipe connecting all three pumps to digester feed valves.
• Remove the staircase in the designated area.
The new discharge line shall have a 120 GPM max capacity for thickened sludge.
