Parking area: overall, how do you feel about parking at Coronado Cays park? Absolutely no diversion of "turf" area for parking.
Gates around dog park
Grave concerns how soccer clubs overtake the park!
I don't park, I walk there
It is difficult to find parking during special events ‐ They don't even pay to play soccer!! It is difficult to find parking during special events‐hate the parking @ sports It is much more difficult since the soccer team increases in recent years It works fine most of time. Only issues is when City allows large soccer events which the area was not designed to handle. But even then, on street parking handles the overflow.
Leave just same ‐ Do Not! Take one step from dog park!
Maximizing the views would be nice.
Need more shade, like Spreckels Park
Need pedestrian crosswalk lights for main intersection. Many cars are too fast and lots of foot traffic with the bus stop.

Not enough parking for dog park.
Not enough parking for soccer tournaments.
Park is used too much for outside our community activities(soccer). this is a small community park that is used mostly for persons who do not reside in the Cays.
Parking is OUT of Control and Dangerous to bikers during Soccer events Parking is perfect and sufficient ‐ no change required
Parking should not be increased for sports event
Satisfies need most of the time. It is fine. No need to change Satisfies needs most of the time ‐ Large special events are rare. satisfies needs most of the time. Do not add parking no more asphalt Satisfies needs most of the time. Do not expand parking lot Satisfies needs most of the time. Do not increase size of parking lot. Size of park is priority not the parking lot.
Satisfies needs most of the time. Enough parking space in walking distances.
Soccer tournaments and beach goers adversly impact Cays parking There is a great deal of illegal parking during sporting events ‐ specifically soccer. Parkking too close to corners and intersections creates a serious safety issue because of hampered vision.
There will never be enough parking. Restrict non resident parking in villages Too much parking on side streets during special events
Usually it's empty
We appreciate the city paying for a guard on soccer game weekends so we can park and use the dog park We don't need to park, since we bike, Cays residents mostly bike or walk to the park.
When the soccer teams play on the weekends, the traffice is awful and the people coming and going from the games, especially when they are leaving, drive way too fast for our community.

Bicycle infrastructure: would you like to see any of the following amenities added to the park? ‐‐Pick multiple‐‐ Access to the park by bicyle (or car or foot or bus for that matter) is not an issue; the issue is that the park should enable one to enjoy the potential views of the ocean better.
Another toilet at the south end
Bike path will create more traffic.
Bike Racks ‐ Needs updated/more
Bike racks;Especially during school days. There's not enough. But don't put racks in parking spaces and leave them by the bus stop. bike use should be discouraged
Bikes lean fine against the west wall
Change entrance to park so bikes stop on lingers (similar to Anphib base in town) ! They blow through now an it is just a matter of time until a car driver unfairly gets blamed for hitting one .
Coronado Law: Bikes are not permitted on the green space in the park or on sidewalks, so question is really not needed. do not add anything for bikes.

Dog amenities: would you like any of the following added to the park? A designated section for smaller dogs might be helpful, might cause un‐expected problems; this would need to be examined before implementing.
A shade pavilion would be a great asset for dog owners and picnickers and a border or hedge along the street to keep the dogs safe.
Absolutely do not want a fence!
An enclosed dog park is overdue, 100% necessary.
As is. No fenced dog play area

Do not change size of current dog park area

Sports fields: would you like to see any of the following changes to this area? ‐‐Pick multiple‐‐ A golf practice area would be wonderful. Two practice nets could easily be installed behind the tennis courts at minimal expense and with no impact on other users or sports.
A main field with seating tucked away might be nice. Kinda like a main court or main championship field. Permanent seating other than that would be an eyesore
A small golf practice area for chipping and putting.
Absolutely not permanent seating
add pickle ball courts
Avoid synthetic turf due to toxicity of rubber. Avoid bleachers as not needed. Park is not a sports arena and will create noise.
Bathrooms by the tennis courts
Better baseball, football, lacrosse fields instead of all soccer Change the baseball field to another soccer field. I never see anyone playing baseball! Covered picnic table area
Current field should not be changed and no permanent seating should be added.
Current fields all slope toward the street ‐ causing errant balls to run into the street. First choice; elevate the fields so that they provide views of the ocean. And once complete, perhaps add ~18" tall fencing or shrubs in key areas where balls go into the street. This would better prevent a child / teen from running into the street and potentially being struck by an inattentive driver.
Delete softball and beach volleyball and horseshoe more soccer Do not want soccer fields to be any bigger as most of the Cays residents do not use them, it should be Coronados park not a money making entity for some soccer conglomerate

Soccer has usurped many other users. Reserving the whole park Sports fields are fine as is.
Spread the soccer out to other Coronado. parks ‐ we shouldn't see as much here as we do.
Take out baseball field, maybe make fenced fog area in its place. the current soccer field is perfect....its not a soccer village for the city of san diego The Park is NOT usable during Soccer Events
The soccer footprint is adequate and flexible. Don't add or subtract. this park is not a soccer stadium and was much more pleasant when there were just the occasional games. You want stadiums, go to the high school fields.
Too many soccer fields allowed to operate at one time and takes up too much of the park for the benefit of only those involved in the sport. Having a section for that use is fine but not the influx that is routinely experienced. And I believe it s free to the organizations that sponsor soccer. What's that all about? It cost a lot of money to maintain the park when used as a sports facility.

fine the way it is
American football fields, Lacrosse fields
Fitness area similar to the new one in Imperial Beach by the pier. Additional shade over picnic table. Better delineate Dog Park area with wayfinding signs
More walking paths ‐ meandering not straight lines
No pickle ball courts
Please do not add large courts and recommend adding to existing so that there is multi‐purpose use.
Permanent Soccer Goals that can be used at ANY time for recreational soccer increased risks and liabilities

No pickleball courts. No wall ball. No fitness equipment. no way on futsal courts.
No wall ball facilities. No fitness equipment. No futsal courts. I would like a sidewalk to run next to the west wall so I can traverse the park to get to the bus stop. A sidewalk would keep my feet out of dog pooh.

Park is fine now; nothing to add
Perhaps line one of the existing tennis courts to accommodate pickleball. Again, do not make this a sports park by ading Wall Ball or Futsal courts. Leave it primarily as a park.
Define futsal court. Additional enhanced planting area shrubs and trees ‐ without decreasing open space.

Racquet ball court instead of the sand horseshoe area
BBetter drinking fountains, larger and more exciting playground geared towards older kids, too. More trees to provide natural shade.
Wall ball facilities;Fitness equipment;Additional enhanced planting area ‐ yes, but very moderate Native plant garden and/or landscaping to tie in with grand caribe shorline park. ALSO please talk wiht City and Silver Strand.
Beautification project about pending cultural and historical monuments projects on bike path. 1) Cays park may look plain but it was originally designed to be primarily a soccer field park, which is fine because the MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE of this park is not he built structures on the park but the fact that there is pretty much an unobstructed view across the park to the ocean. That is the point of this park. 2) Any improvements/changes should coordinate with the point's grand caribe shoreline park and the silver strand beautification project. I am happy to provide contact info. Kim Tolles 619‐850‐3574 wall ball behind tennis courts

Written Correspondence / Emails
Replace / expand restroom to accommodate increase in visitors. Smaller version of Spreckels Additional benches and picnic tables to accommodate increase in visitors Keep meandering walkingn path / ambiance
Walking path as delineation of dog run is sufficient
Synthetic turf is not desirable (unhealthy and dangerous surface) No storage trailers. Eyesore.
Remove horseshoe pits. Lightly used, dangerous stakes (tripping hazard).
Upgrade baseball diamond / backstop, volleyball
Concern about using park for commercial interest (soccer): displacement of residents, litter, noise, field lights Do not decrease size of dog run
Do not expand parking lot, will lead to more beach goer congestion and reduce grassy area Plant large mature shade trees around dog run seating area Separate trash / benches
Wide sidewalk down middle accommodates multiple users (disabled, children, etc.) and should remain Park should remain as a multi‐purpose park and not accommodate one special interest group Concern about commerical use
Preserve natural environment
Preserve passive uses
Artificial turf may be unhealthy if not properly maintained / requires extensive maintenance Continue good maintenance practices emptying garbage, replenishing doggie bags Provide lighting for safe evening walking
Do not permit storage containers or grandstands (eyesore) Keep dog run separated from other uses
Preserve green space, natural beauty
Park should benefit all Cays residents rather than just a few (soccer and dog owners). No special interest groups.
Analyze park usage, user residency
Consider eucalyptus grove with walking path, benches and meadow Consider parcourse or fitness trail
Consider small senior center
Consider small amphitheater for open air presentations
consider water feature of some kind (duck pond?)
Consider community garden to be maintained by local clubs Consider rotating display of art sculptures
Consider native or drouight resistant labeled demonstration garden Consider a central theme, such as kinetic sculptures, or honroing Navy families Consider wildlife habitat to complement nearby San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge Increase trees.
Add one unisex bathroom at far end of dog park
Concerns about vehicular safety (consider speed limit reduction, speed bumps, cautions signs) Use hedge to delineate dog park
More shade trees in dog park
Spread out existing picnic tables in dog park
Add drinking fountain (people / dogs) in dog park
Separate trash / benches
Add solar lighting for winter hours
Add exercise area near tennis courts
Upgrade restroom ‐ increase safety (similar to Spreckels) Preserve open fields, large play areas
Concerns about vehicular safety (proximity of playground, intersection and within parking lot) Style of bike rack on east side of parking lot is preferred and well used Fencing around dog park is desired by parents
