CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENT OF ONE MEMBER TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION TO SERVE A THREE-YEAR TERM TO EXPIRE JANUARY 31, 2027
RECOMMENDATION:

Consider for reappointment one member to serve a three-year term to expire January 31, 2027 on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Coronado Administrative Procedure No. 204 and Council policy limits the time an individual may serve on a board, commission, or committee to a maximum of two terms or eight years, whichever is less. ANALYSIS:

Commissioner Andrew Koczon was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission on July 19, 2022, and is seeking reappointment for a three (3) year term.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

ALTERNATIVE:

The City Council could decline to make the reappointment and direct the City Clerk to advertise for additional applicants.

CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT:

Not Applicable.

PUBLIC NOTICE:

The notice of vacancy was published in the Coronado Eagle & Journal. Notices were posted at City Hall, Coronado Community Center, Coronado Public Library, John D. Spreckels Center, on the City’s website, and in the City Manager’s Update.
