RESOLUTION NO. 2024-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORONADO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND
APPROPRIATION OF FISCAL YEAR 2022 HOMELAND
SECURITY GRANT-URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,500
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security provides grant funds to local governments through State and local programs to support terrorism preparedness by building or enhancing capabilities that relate to the prevention of, protection from, or response to and recovery from terrorism; and
WHEREAS, the City of Coronado has been awarded $17,500; and WHEREAS, through the City of San Diego, Coronado has been approved to use grant funds for training and overtime for fire personnel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Coronado, California, that the City Council approves and authorizes the receipt and appropriation of $17,500 in grant funds provided by the U.S. Homeland Security Grant administered through the City of San Diego.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these funds, which must be spent by December 15, 2024, be budgeted for expenditure from the Federal Grants Fund 240 in Fiscal Year 2023-24.
