RESOLUTION NO. 2024-39
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORONADO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ITS PERSONNEL
AUTHORIZATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN TO REFLECT
FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 COMPENSATION, POSITION AND
CLASSIFICATION CHANGES
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of updating the Personnel Authorization and Compensation Plan when approved compensation, benefit, or classification adjustments occur; and
WHEREAS, Sections 1 and 2 of the Personnel Authorization and Compensation Plan will be amended to reflect a 4.0% increase to the salary steps and ranges as approved by the City Council for Self-Represented Employees and Executive Management (excluding the City Manager); and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Authorization and Compensation Plan will be amended to reflect the following position changes for a net effect of an additional 1.75 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions:
• Addition of 0.25 position to Fire Services’ Fire Prevention Aide; • Addition of 0.5 position to Public Services and Engineering’s Management Analyst; • Addition of 1.0 position to Public Services and Engineering’s Senior Management Analyst; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Authorization and Compensation Plan will be amended with the following classification changes:
• Reclassification of 1.0 position from Public Services and Engineering’s Associate Engineer to the new classification of Senior Engineer with a salary range top step of $144,905.70;
• Adjustment of classification title of 2.0 positions from the Public Services and Engineering’s Public Services Supervisor to Public Services Managers; • Adjustment of classification title of 1.0 positions from the Public Services and Engineering’s Public Services Supervisor to Utility Manager with salary and range adjustment of 5% to address market inequities;
• Adjustment of classification title of 1.0 position from the Public Services and Engineering’s Public Services Administration Supervisor/Manager to Public Services and Engineering Administrative Manager with an adjusted salary range top step of $153,654.59 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Coronado as follows:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above recitations are true; and Attachment 5
WHEREAS, that Sections 1 and 2 of the Personnel Authorization and Compensation Plan be amended to reflect a 4.0% increase to the salary steps and ranges as approved by the City Council for Self-Represented Employees and Executive Management (excluding the City Manager), and
WHEREAS, the position count and classification changes described will be incorporated into the Personnel Authorization and Compensation Plan and effective as of FY 2024-25.
