HROCRAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Coronado deeply appreciates the sacrifices made by the brave men and women in uniform and their families, who provide unwavering support through every challenge; and
WHEREAS, military spouses play a vital role in the strength of our Armed Forces, managing the difficulties of deployments, relocations, and the demands of military life with resilience; and
WHEREAS, this year, we celebrate Angela Litteral of Coronado, honored as Navy Spouse of the Year by the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year Program, and Annie Gardner, recognized as the Naval Air Station North Island Spouse of the Year; and
WHEREAS, with the installation of the League of Wives statue and the display of flags along Orange Avenue, it is a perfect time to recognize the contributions of military spouses over the decades. Military spouses significantly impact the local community, and their contributions to the Coronado community are immense and invaluable; and NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council of the City of Coronado, I do hereby recognize and proclaim June 18, 2024, as:
"MILITARY SPOUSE APPRECIATION DAY"
in the City of Coronado.
