WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno has been the Executive Director of the Rotary Club of Coronado for 18 years; and
WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno has successfully navigated the Rotary Club of Coronado through 19 presidents, innumerable golf tournaments, Beach Races, pancake breakfasts, charity wine tastings, board meetings and pandemics; and
WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno is totally professional, absolutely dependable, scrupulously honest and unfailingly kind; and
WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno has demonstrated impeccable judgment, unfailing fairness and a persistent work ethic, always with a smile; and
WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno has selflessly dedicated many hours and days volunteering with her sleeves rolled up in helping others through the Rotary Club of Coronado; and WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno has, after her herculean efforts supporting Rotarians, the Rotary Club of Coronado, the City of Coronado, and our corner of San Diego, announced her retirement; and
WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno demonstrates Rotary's Four-Way Test in all she does; and WHEREAS, Jaimie Centeno's love of Rotary and the City of Coronado is second to none.
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council of the City of Coronado, I do hereby recognize and proclaim August 1, 2024 as:
"JAIMIE CENTENO DAY"
in the City of Coronado.
