Dear Contact Name:

Location: Adella/Ynez 20B Conversion
Our records indicate your company has a “Master Joint Trench Agreement” on file with SDG&E. For your reference we have attached with this letter a CAD drawing for the above referenced underground facilities installation. If your company has an interest in jointly installing underground facilities on this project, please return a “Joint Trench Offer”, with the proposed installation attached as Exhibit “A” within the next 75 calendar days. We anticipate scheduling to begin on this project as soon as 90 days from today, and require 15 days to review your offer. Please be sure your joint trench offer includes:
• Equipment location dimensions relative to landmarks or proposed SDG&E equipment • Total trench footage (joint and separate)
• Installation of equipment, conduit and pull rope to be provided by SDG&E or its Contractor • Telco/CATV (communication) trench only highlighted on final design • Cost for shoring if known
Note: All joint trench materials and specifications must be supplied and delivered to the project laydown yard by your company.

Billing for 50% of the joint trench installation by SDG&E will be initiated once the trenching work orders have been issued to construction. Final payment will be initiated upon completion of the trenching and receipt of final as-builts, signed Joint Trench Final Acceptance form, and back-end reconciliation of Joint Trench Offers. Any unpaid balances after 30 days are subject to late fees and interest, in accordance with the Master Joint Trench Agreement.

If you do not require joint trench, please return one copy of our final design indicating:
a. Underground extension planned in separate trench,
OR
b. No underground extension required

2 If “a” applies, please indicate your trench position for our review. I will contact you to confirm we are in agreement on trench location.

In the event hard digging is necessary, you will be required to pay a proportionate cost of this work for joint trench and the total cost for Telco/CATV trench only. A cost estimate will be forwarded to you on the additional work required and moneys due. Written agreement must be received prior to the installation of your conduit in the joint trench and/or installation of your conduit in the Telco/CATV trench only.

In an effort to reduce public inconvenience and control costs, SDG&E will review this work order, prior to construction, for the possible use of lateral boring. The joint lateral boring will be limited to electrical secondary below 750 volts and communications. Joint lateral boring will be accomplished with a single bore hole for both electric and communications, which will create the absolute minimum separation. If you do not wish to have your communications in the same bore hole as electric secondary, please indicate on your joint trench offer.

Note: If the decision is made to bore, and you do not wish to use the joint trench bore, then an additional charge for the second bore at each joint boring location will be added to your bill.

Change orders may be required to make changes or modification to the work within the general scope of this Agreement. If such changes or modification necessitate an increase or decrease in the amount due or in the time required for performance, such matters shall be agreed upon in writing prior to proceeding with the change. These changes must be submitted to the SDG&E Liaison Planner, not to field personnel.

Our review of your offer should be complete within 15 calendar days from receipt. If we accept your offer, we will countersign and return a copy to you. If your offer is rejected, a counter offer will be made for your review and decision. All offers must comply with SDG&E’s standards for clearances and have equipment locations tied down as mentioned above. SDG&E’s clearance requirements are available upon request.

Please refer to Underground Standard 3483 for clearances from SDG&E underground equipment.

Sincerely,
Signature
