RESOLUTION NO. 2024-65
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORONADO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO FOR FISCAL
YEARS 2025-26 COMMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR JOHN D. SPRECKELS CENTER
AND LAWN BOWLING GREEN (JDSC) EMERGENCY
GENERATOR PROJECT
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to cities and counties to be used for the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City has participated as a member of the Urban County, administered by the County of San Diego, since 1973; and
WHEREAS, the City’s previous participation has resulted in the development of programs and the completion of projects beneficial to the public.
WHEREAS, The City has a total of $409,514 available due to prior year allocations and the annual FY 2025-26 allocation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Coronado as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true.
2. That the City Council of the City of Coronado authorizes the submittal of an application to the County of San Diego for the 2025-26 fiscal year for the John D. Spreckels Center And Lawn Bowling Green (JDSC) Emergency Generator Project.
3. That the City Manager, or her designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute, in the name of the City of Coronado, all necessary applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
