RESOLUTION NO. 2024-76
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORONADO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE FIRST
AMENDMENT TO THE LEGAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
BURKE, WILLIAMS & SORENSEN, LLP AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AMENDMENT
WHEREAS Johanna N. Canlas has served as the appointed City Attorney for the City of Coronado (City) since February 2012; and
WHEREAS, when Ms. Canlas joined Burke, Williams & Sorensen LLP (Burke), the City conducted a Request for Proposals for legal services and awarded the agreement to Burke effective April 7, 2021 (Agreement); and
WHEREAS the City Council completed the annual performance evaluation this fall and concluded with a positive review and determined rate adjustments are warranted; and WHEREAS an amendment to the Agreement between City and Burke is needed to effectuate rate adjustments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Coronado as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true.
2. That the City Council of the City of Coronado approve the First Amendment with Burke, Williams & Sorensen LLP which is attached as Exhibit A.
3. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the First Amendment with Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Coronado, California, at a regular meeting thereof this seventeenth day of December 2024 by the following vote to wit:
