Included with this conceptual design task, CONSULTANT and its subcontractor will evaluate the existing generator and related electrical equipment for corrosion and replacement and recommend either to either improve or replace the generator and related electrical equipment along with any necessary improvement of the foundation.

Conceptual designs will also include evaluation of two types of flow meters, one a 3 Docusign Envelope ID: A2A66F85-08F9-4B7B-86AD-3CA993832B5A Attachment 1
magnetic type flow meter and another an ultrasonic type flow meter, and will include design configurations for piping, positioning, and vaults for both types. In addition, existing vault hatch mechanisms will be inspected, and recommendations will be developed for refurbishment and/or replacement of vault hatch mechanisms and safety improvements, such as the elimination of the existing tripping hazard and installation of new railing, as required. The CITY will indicate its preference for one of the conceptual design alternatives and provide redlined and/or written comments that CONSULTANT will incorporate into the 60% design progress plan set.

8. Preliminary Cost Estimate
• CONSULTANT shall prepare a two (2) preliminary construction cost estimates based upon the two(2) alternative design concepts so that the city can review and determine the qualitying selected design concept that will be considered as a budgetary estimate.

Consultant shall also prepare a preliminary cost estimate for the selected design.

CONSULTANT will estimate costs for permits, mobilization, material procurement, equipment, labor, and related work. The preliminary construction cost estimate shall be prepared in accordance with AACE Class 3 cost estimation guidelines.

9. Technical Memorandum
• CONSULTANT shall summarize the conceptual design alternative approach, CONSULTANT's recommended concept in accordance with the CITY's preferences and industry standards, construction durations, and the preliminary cost estimate within a technical memorandum. The technical memorandum will include a discussion of both alternatives that were considered and the justification for the selected alternative for both the permanent bypass system and the flow meter type, together with the primary construction, operational and maintenance requirements and costs and benefits. As appendices, the technical memorandum will include preliminary calculations and technical specification sheets for selected equipment.
