RE: Support for Travelodge North Housing – Agenda Item 6
United to End Homelessness writes today to express our support for the Travelodge North Housing Project with American Family Housing that is under consideration for funding support. This development will contribute high-quality Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) to help end our county's homelessness crisis as part of the Homekey strategy.
This development is meeting a crucial and growing need in our community for an extremely vulnerable population and would deliver 76 apartments for people who have experienced homelessness.
In 2018, the Orange County United Way launched United to End Homelessness, a powerful collaboration among Orange County’s top business, philanthropic, government, faith-based, and non-profit leaders committed to ending homelessness and ensuring housing and services are available for every individual who may need them. United to End Homelessness has been an influential voice in advocating for housing as the solution to end homelessness, and OCUW has always supported and maintained that affordable, stable housing is the building block to success.
Thank you for your support of this development and others in your city. We are grateful to you for your courage and willingness to improve the lives of those in-need in our community.
Sincerely,
Lawrence R. Armstrong Becks Heyhoe

Subject: Thank you for installing LPIs
Dear Members of the City Council: I am writing to thank you and to thank the Public Works staff for installing leading pedestrian interval (LPI) signals at 26 intersections around Costa Mesa. These signals really improve the pedestrian experience in these locations and I hope you will consider installing more of them in the future.
