We have generated a map of the listed streets above. See Exhibit 1.

The anticipated overall project fee is $3.64M which includes a 11% Design fee, 10% Construction Management fee and 15% contingency.

Typical work to be performed includes:
• Perform field work to verify existing roadway dimensions, striping, utility covers, and other information pertinent to the design.
• Identify and measure dig out areas in slurry seal streets and tabulate in spreadsheet. • Identify deficient curb ramps and propose treatment to bring into compliance. • Notify and coordinate with utility agencies and possibly Caltrans. • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimate at 65%, 95%, and Final submittals. • Assist the city during the bid period
• Provide Design Services during construction
Schedule
For the tentative design schedule see Attachment B.

The design work will be completed by early November for advertising period. Construction is scheduled to start in April, however, might be able to start earlier if weather conditions are favorable and project is phased out, regardless, schedule is consistent with optimal weather conditions for paving and slurry seal installation.

Project Deliverables
The 65%, 95% and Final PS&E documents will include specifications, cost estimate and a set of full-size plans. The full-size plans will comprise of:
• Title Sheet
• General Notes Sheet
• Key Map that will show the treated streets (FDR/Mill and OL/Slurry/Crack Seal) • Plan Sheets (FDR and Mill and OL only) at 20-scale - assume 11 sheets • Key Map - Striping
• Striping Plans (FDR and Mill and OL only) at 40-scale - assume 6 sheets • Detail Sheet - assume 5 sheets
• Slurry/Crack Seal Table Sheet – Assume 3 sheets
A detailed spreadsheet showing a quantity takeoff for each street segment will be included.

Fee
Please see the attached fee proposal for Harris’ level of effort (Attachment A) to execute the scope of work. The proposed fee is in the not-to-exceed total amount of $303,628. Attention is directed to the assumptions attached to this fee proposal, indicating inclusions and exclusions in developing our fee basis.

Once we receive the Notice to Proceed, the design process will begin immediately to meet the aggressive schedule.

Please contact Luella Gabriel (925-969-8140) or Zaheer Shaikh (925-322-6582) if you have any questions regarding our proposal. We look forward to working with you again.

Sincerely,
Harris & Associates
