The City Council provided direction to staff to continue to conduct assignments in a single meeting. However, in election years where city councilmembers are leaving the council, provide time in the final meeting of December for the outgoing councilmember(s) to describe and impart any wisdom about their assignments to the remaining and incoming councilmembers.
In election years, if there are new councilmembers, committee assignments will continue to be held at the first meeting in January.
