As Neighborhood Watch Captain for some 20+ years, I request that we have a meeting with those in charge of this program more than once every 10 years or so.

At the last NW meeting there were only two civilian members of Cotati NW present. We gave our reports and our
recommendations face to face to two police officers. There were no materials available for us. No handouts provided. I had to bring all the materials and free packet on NW that I had on file and provided by the federal government some 20 years ago to this meeting. The two officers didn't even know there was any such material available from the federal government to support the program. They didn't have a plan for the meeting, didn't have much to say, didn't seem to care much, looked bored to tears, didn't like my idea to have a NW website, didn't care to have a Cotati NW facebook page, didn't give us much instruction on how to be more effective in helping our police department and our community to combat crime, didn't have any plan to recruit more citizen/volunteers. Officer Gallo requested that she borrow my materials and then returned it to me a week later to my home as she promised. Nothing has been done since that I know of. Nobody has contacted me since. It's been almost ten years. There seems to be no recruitment and the program a complete failure. I'm not really surprised.

I as so embarrassed and ashamed how unprepared these
officers were at our meeting in the Community Room and was as a result of failed leadership from Parish and the entire city council. This is all now like a bad comedy show.
