SAMPLE DIVERSITY QUESTIONS
1) Santa Rosa Junior College is an open access community college and serves a diverse population of students, staff and faculty. What experiences have you had dealing with individuals who may have unique needs?
2) What skills do you possess that will serve the diverse needs of the campus community? 3) Give us an example that demonstrates your sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of SRJC students and the community at large.
4) Describe a time when you were able to adapt to a person from a background or culture that was different from yours.
5) Please tell us how you define “diversity”. Also, explain what experience you have had working with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities. 6) What do you see as the most challenging aspect of a diverse working environment? What steps have you taken to meet this challenge?
7) What does it mean to have commitment to diversity and how would you develop diversity and apply your commitment at the College?
