Mr. Patterson, I would appreciate it if you would make sure this email gets into the next City Council packet. It is in regards to the rotation for the next Mayor. I am in full support of seeing Susan Harvey, Vice Mayor, as the next Mayor of Cotati.
Having served14 years on the Cotati City Council, and 3 times as Mayor, I have worked very closely with Susan during most of that time. She is very astute on budget issues and pays very close attention to those issues. I have seen the detailed notes Susan would take to then report out with an informed opinion on any topic. She also regularly seeks input from the public on all issues.
Over her many years of living in the City, Susan has volunteered her time and energy for every event that the City or Chamber of Commerce has sponsored. She co-chaired with me the citizen committee on Cotati's 50th Anniversary celebration.
She also serves on a number of appointed positions on boards throughout Sonoma County and has a very good reputation amongst other Mayors and Council Members in the county. Those positions include the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency (SCWMA), Sonoma Water Advisory Committee, Santa Rosa Plain Groundwater Sustainability Agency, Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District 2x2x2, and Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). She serves on the Board of Directors of the Northbay Division of the League of California Cities, currently as Immediate Past President.
I feel Susan Harvey will continue to serve the citizens of Cotati and would strongly recommend appointing her as Cotati's Mayor for 2023.
Respectfully submitted,
John A. Dell'Osso
