Dear Honorable Councilmembers,
I am writing today to ask that you elevate Vice Mayor Susan Harvey to mayor when you reorganize next week. Vice Mayor Harvey should have been mayor in 2022, but she graciously supported Mark Landman’s request to complete his council service career as mayor and stepped back for a year.
I have known Susan Harvey longer than I have known any resident of Cotati; about 39 years.
She is calm, thoughtful, very intelligent and has a thorough knowledge of governance. She will provide steady leadership that will be useful as our new councilmembers get up to speed. I would recommend Ben Ford as Vice Mayor.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Pat Gilardi
