My public comment for the Dec 13th mayor's election.
Thank you for allowing me a few moments to share why my preference for Cotati’s Mayor should be elected by the Council.
I have lived in Cotati since 1994. I have seen many changes to Cotati guided by our City Council, mostly good some not so good. Susan serves Cotati not only on the Council but also represents those who live in Cotati by serving on many county or regional agencies and committees.
It is very clear by Susan’s involvement as a Cotati resident and as a dedicated Council member of her desire to accomplish what is best for Cotati. Susan is not shy about facing issues such as housing, the environment and fiscal responsibility. She has followed through on these by her service on the Council and beyond, implementing solutions to the common and not so common challenges Cotati has faced.
Susan has shown she is effective in providing the residents and businesses of Cotati with the necessary city services, effective in retaining existing businesses and attracting new businesses, effective in building a community and that she can do so with fiscal responsibility. Every year Susan has been on the Council Cotati has had a balanced budget.
Having known Susan for more than 10 years, having watched her actions and achievements as a Council member and as a community volunteer, Susan Harvey is by far the best choice to represent Cotati as Mayor. Dave Wasson
