RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI COMMENDING
COUNCILMEMBER JOHN MOORE FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY OF COTATI WHEREAS, John Moore was first appointed to Cotati City Council on March 13, 2013, and sworn in on the evening of March 13, 2013; and WHEREAS, John Moore was elected to Cotati City Council on November 4, 2014 and sworn in on the evening of December 9, 2014, and was subsequently re-elected in 2018, and faithfully served as Councilmember through December 2022; and WHEREAS, John Moore served as Mayor of the City of Cotati in 2016 and 2021, and Vice Mayor in 2015 and 2020; and
WHEREAS, John Moore was recognized as Cotati Citizen of the Year in 2005; and WHEREAS, John Moore served on the City Council that guided the City back from a dire financial situation, balanced the City budget and advocated for improved public services and infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, John Moore served and guided the City during unprecedented challenges including wildfires, financial instability and the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, John Moore has represented Cotati as a member of the Cotati Chamber of Commerce Board, Cotati Rent Appeals Board, Continuum of Care Advisory Committee and Board, and Sonoma County Mayors and Councilmembers Association; and WHEREAS, John Moore has also served the community as a member of the Rohnert Park – Cotati Library Advisory Board, Redwood Empire Municipal Insurance Fund (REMIF)/California Intergovernmental Risk Authority (CIRA), and Service Employees International Union Local 1000, District Labor Council 752; and WHEREAS, John Moore’s humor will be missed everyone at City Hall, who wish Lisa and him the best in City Council “retirement”.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of Cotati that John Moore is hereby commended for his service to the community as a Councilmember of the City of Cotati.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on the December 13th, 2022, by the following vote, to wit:
