RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI ACCEPTING
THE MOSAIC WALL BENCHES PROJECT AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
RECORD WITH THE COUNTY RECORDERS OFFICE THE NOTICE OF
COMPLETION
WHEREAS, The City’s FY21/22 Budget includes the installation of benches on the mosaic walls at the intersection of Highway 116 and Old Redwood Highway; and WHEREAS, On June 28, 2022, City Council awarded the Mosaic Wall Benches Project construction contract to Coastside Concrete and Construction, Inc. in the amount of $46,500; and WHEREAS, on December 6, 2022, the City Engineer inspected the work and has determined the work has is complete in accordance with the contract documents and there were no change orders, and the work was completed for the contract amount; and WHEREAS, the City will receive a maintenance bond in the amount of 10% of the total contract amount and will be in effect for a year following acceptance by the City Council; and WHEREAS, also, following Council acceptance of the Project, the City Clerk shall record with the County Recorder’s office the Notice of Completion; and WHEREAS, the City’s adopted Fiscal Year Budget includes $46,000 for the Project and, upon award of the construction contract, authorized an increase in the Project’s budget to $53,000, to include the construction contract amount of $46,500, and construction contingency of $6,500; and
WHEREAS, the Project including construction management totaled $49,787, which was $3,213 under the amended budget amount whereby the remainder funds will be unencumbered from the City’s unappropriated General Fund balance; and WHEREAS, this Project is Categorically Exempt in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15301 Existing Facilities as the Mosaic Wall Benches Project is a minor alteration of an existing structure, therefore, no further environmental review is required.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council hereby:
1. Accepts completion of the Mosaic Wall Benches Project, and
2. Directs the City Clerk to record with the County Recorder’s Office the attached Notice of Completion.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on the December 13th, 2022, by the following vote, to wit:
