To whom may it may concern,
I respectfully request appointment to the Continuum of Care Board as the representative for the Cities of Rohnert Park and Cotati.
I am passionate about addressing this challenging issue. I know that it requires compassionate concern for those experiencing homelessness, as well as residents and businesses whose lives are affected by those living on our streets. I am proud that Rohnert Park took numerous positive steps last year while I served as Mayor last year, such as opening Labath Landing and reorganizing the encampment at Roberts Lake.
Additionally, I serve on the Sonoma County legislative committee for the League of California Cities.
Serving on the Continuum of Care Board would allow me to incorporate the homelessness issue into the League’s legislative efforts.
Furthermore, ethnic minorities are over-represented in the homeless population in Sonoma County, and under-represented on the Continuum of Care Board. I bring an important personal perspective as a woman of color to contribute to the Board and community.
