Subject: Citizen's Comment Item 10A-- appointment of planning commissioners CAUTION:EXTERNAL SENDER

Kevin,
Please add my comment to item 10A-- planning commissioners appointment.
I would urge the council to delay the appointment of planning commissioners, like the school board did recently for the Cotati representing member. I would ask that the city re-open applications for a couple of reasons.
1. The original application time was over the holidays. Prospective applicants might not have been aware of their availability in the new year.
2. With the current applicants, there would be a make-up of the commission of those residing mostly east of West Sierra Avenue and ORH. Meanwhile, most of the proposed development projects are on the west side by Lowe's, affecting most west side residents. There is renewed interest in these proposed west-side developments lately, i.e. a letter to the editor from a west side resident in the Community Voice this week. I would request that a concentrated effort to recruit a planning commissioner who lives in the west side of Cotati.
Thank you,
Laurie Alderman
