The Yard Markets is a small business makers market. They have had and have several upcoming events scheduled at Walnut Park in Petaluma. Their events typically feature 40-50 vendors selling local goods and gift items, food, and other commodities. Their event focus is to bring people together in a safe space to support Sonoma County small businesses.
They are proposing to host three events this year in La Plaza Park on May 20, June 17, and July
15. Analysis/Discussion
The Yard Markets has requested the following: 1) exclusive use of La Plaza Park; 2) food truck and vendor sales of food and beverages; 3) live, amplified entertainment; 4) street closures of La Plaza between West Sierra Ave and Old Redwood Highway.
The event is a small business makers market event proposed to take place in La Plaza Park, where they will have a DJ with amplified music, food, and merchandise vendors. Vendors will be set up in La Plaza Park and on La Plaza St. between Old Redwood Hwy. and West Sierra Avenue, adjacent to the park. The event is expected to bring visitation to the City and its businesses.
