RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI RECOGNIZING AND THANKING LISA MOORE FOR 32 YEARS OF SERVICE ON THE COTATI
COMMUNITY AND ENVIRONMENT COMMISSION, PLANNING COMMISSION
AND THE COTATI CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Lisa Moore has tirelessly served the City of Cotati since 1990; as a private citizen, a parent, a member of the former Community and Environment Commission, Planning Commissioner, member of the City Council as well as the Mayor, including putting up with John Moore, also an elected City Councilmember and Mayor; and WHEREAS, through all of this service, Lisa managed to also work full-time, often bringing her professional experience and perspective to help to inform her public service; and WHEREAS, Lisa was never shy about sharing her opinions to improve the City, even if it was contrary to a certain other council member who lived in the same household; and WHEREAS, Lisa was diligent in ensuring all private development projects had thoughtfully located adequate solid waste management facilities in their project design, whether the project applicants had planned for it or not; and
WHEREAS, it is determined that based upon the public testimony and staff analysis that the resignation of Lisa Moore from public service can only be accepted if she promotes positive and influential stories about being an elected and appointed official in local government to her children and grandchildren, setting the stage for a future Moore family participation in local government; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Cotati have truly benefited from the efforts of Lisa Moore.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Cotati finds as follows:
A. That the Council does hereby find that the over three decades of public service is consistent with the goals and policies of the Cotati General Plan, Downtown Specific Plan and many other City Plans, because Lisa helped craft all of them! B. That the above recitals are true and correct and constitute only a small part of the findings made by the City Council in recognizing Lisa Moore for her years of public service.
C. That the City of Cotati owes Lisa Moore a debt of gratitude for helping to make Cotati such a wonderful community to live and work in.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on the May 23rd, 2023, by the following vote, to wit:
