Dear City Council
I’m curious, with these two parcels; does the City have a plan for how there will be an extension of the walking zones from W Cotati Ave, across Caltrans Hwy 116 ( an intersection design in process with a budget of $5million) along the Eastern border of the larger parcel – and then the narrow finger between the two parcels – and on to connections with Sonoma County trails.? Not quite the sausage machine of zoning, but related to how these parcels land use fit in Cotati The context is these parcels have evolved all sorts of discussion for the last twenty years, and Cotati’s “sausage machine” has never had a place for considering how to intersect the land use with pedestrian safe connections on W Cotati Ave walking paths to Sonoma County trails.
From Cotati’s (lack of) plans, this is how Caltrans views pedestrian connection in this area This is the opportunity that could include these two parcels if they where every developed.
Ref: 2014 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan , outdated in this area by the 2015 general plan.
